Schlieben-Berga, located in what is now the German state of Brandenburg, was the third-largest of more than 136 subcamps of Buchenwald concentration camp established by the National Socialists up to 1945. Schlieben-Berga supplied cheap forced labour to HASAG – Hugo Schneider AG, the third-largest German armaments manufacturer, for the production of munitions. Prisoners were made to produce above all the Panzerfaust, the anti-tank weapon developed by HASAG.

After 1945, the history of the Schlieben camp largely faded from memory or was suppressed.
